Series: The Courage to Create: How I Built HappyKids HQ. A Startup Journey for Australian Families

(Read time: 2 minutes)

Part 1: The Story Behind the Struggle – Why Australian Parents Deserve Better Options for Kids' Activities

Every journey has a destination, and every story has an end. But the stories that stay with us, the ones we connect to, are the ones we wish were ours. Amidst the achievements and milestones, we often forget the one thing that makes these stories unforgettable: courage.

Courage isn’t loud or obvious. Often, it’s the quiet decision to show up, to take one more step, to pursue something that matters even when the odds are unclear. This spirit of courage defines the startup world. People from all walks of life make the brave choice to step out of their comfort zones, risking familiarity to pursue a purpose. For these individuals, the journey is filled with surprises and challenges. However, they can see through obstacles because they are driven by a bigger mission - to make a difference, create impact, and give back.

In this blog series, I want to take you through my own story - why I left a thriving career, how a personal frustration became a business idea, and how I’ve come to understand courage in a whole new light.

Ask Yourself: What’s a story that stayed with you long after you heard it? Was it because deep down, you yearned for it to be your own?

Stay with me. In Part 2, I’ll take you inside what looked like a perfect life - and why it still felt incomplete.
