Series: The Courage to Create: How I Built HappyKids HQ: A Startup Journey for Australian Families

(Read time: 1-2 minutes)

Part 3: Turning a Parent's Frustration into a Startup Idea for Australia

As a mother, wife, and professional, I faced the same daily grind as millions of parents, sifting through cluttered online platforms in search of something worthwhile for my kids. Booking activities felt chaotic, impersonal, and confusing.

That’s when it struck me: if I’m struggling with this, surely others are too. And if I could solve this problem, maybe I could create something of real value. That’s how the seed of HappyKids HQ was planted.

At first, courage looked like building a platform. But as time went on, I realised the real courage was believing in my ability to build something new in a space that hadn’t yet been solved. I didn’t have all the answers, but I had the drive to find them.

Ask Yourself: What recurring frustration could be pointing you to your next big idea?

Coming up in Part 4, I’ll take you behind the scenes of turning an idea into action through doubt, setbacks, and even natural disasters.
